How Lawn Care Affects Your Outdoor HVAC Units

For homeowners, lawn care means you have a well-maintained lawn aesthetics and design. The truth is, your lawn contributes to your overall home beyond just its looks. You experience greater home value and comfort with a well-maintained lawn.

A-1 Comfort Care delivers exceptional services for customers with HVAC and plumbing troubles for almost 20 years. If you need help with your air conditioning, we offer clients our exceptional products along with commercial and residential HVAC services.

But how does lawn care affect your outdoor HVAC  units? Here’s how.

1. There is a higher chance that your fan blades will get damaged if you’re not taking care of your lawn. The fan helps in pumping air through the system in keeping your home cool. If you’re not cleaning your yard, the twigs and branches that scatter around your lawn will fall down into the air conditioning unit. Once the fan blade spins, there is a possibility that they will strike the twigs causing damage to the blades.

You can fix this by removing the debris but if the damage gets worse, you need a total replacement of your air conditioning unit. Our HVAC installation contractors are the ones who will work for you, whether you are looking for a simple filter change, repairs to a broken system or a maintenance visit.

2. Your air conditioning unit must have a proper circulation to provide its purpose, to keep cold and nice air inside your home. If you have tall grass, brush, and debris around your lawn, these can limit your unit’s air intake. This is one factor why cooling air is prevented.

In order to maintain proper cold air from your unit, you need to cut and trim your lawn. Avoid brush from growing closer to your unit. Make sure no debris is around it.

3. Monitor the condition of the concrete around your home if you want to get a well-maintained HVAC unit. Make sure your concrete slab won’t shift or tilt where your exterior unit is usually placed. But where does the damage come from? Improper watering and other poor lawn may cause greater damage to your unit.

If you notice any issue with your concrete slab, call a concrete expert immediately. Your unit will be more at risk if this is not raised right away.

As homeowners, you need to think that maintaining your lawn is also maintaining your exterior air conditioning unit. Regular maintenance will lead your unit to last longer. Our technicians are experts in air conditioning repair services to keep you comfortable over the long term. We answer all your concerns from inquiry to installation.
